Spatialised Knowledge
K2V Limited has offered to showcase the knowledge of a selection of accredited oil & gas sector consultants by spatialising their knowledge using the K2V Knowledge PinMap™. Below is a cut-down version of the tool developed by K2V Ltd to illustrate the power of spatially harvesting knowledge from groups of individuals, one of 6 modules described here. The demo version is published below to increase the visibility of the participating consultants, so that potential clients can query "who knows what where and when" to aid in the selection of suitable candidates for consultancy. K2V Limited asks for no payment in providing this service to clients and offers no guarantees.
Who are they?
The map above shows the spread of knowledge of a group of 10 independent consultants who chose to geo-reference what they know using the Knowledge PinMap™ to advertise their services. At this scale, it is becoming increasingly difficult to "see the wood for the trees". The best way to find your way through a forest is to have an objective. Drag the map and use the navigation buttons (upper left), zoom in to your area of interest and click on the pins to get some basic information about the knowledge behind the pins. Click the top right icon to toggle layers on or off and the icon to the left of it will provide a legend for pin colour, size and symbology. If you need to thin the forest further (for instance show me: "all regional geologists who have worked my AoI since 2011 to a level of knowledge of 3 or higher"), click the upward arrow at the bottom of the map to query the database and build your desired filters. The heat map above demonstrates that the knowledge harvested from consultants here is concentrated in four main regions: The North Sea, West Africa, Oman and SE Asia. Of greater interest for frontier exploration are those basins which few people know anything about.
